Hardware Experience
John, of PC Professionals, has been building computers and installing networks since the early 80's. He has extensive knowledge of both hardware and software which enables him to diagnose problems between the two. John has been building reliable servers years before the likes of Dell or IBM Server products. John was a network administrator for ADVO in the 1990's and worked with all types of hardware and operating systems. Primarily Mainframe, AS400, PC interperability.
The
Internet places a computer in the sights of many hazards, such as viruses,
adware,
spyware
and
the
like.
John
can
configure
a secure working environment even in todays networking. This is
achieved by the using the correct operating system settings, firewall/router
setup, coupled with best anti-virus, anti-spyware solutions available.
John is an expert in the correct operating systems, computer systems,
routers/firewalls, battery backups to use. Even if you are going
to build a system yourself, it would be wise to consult an expert
first.
John has been installing network cabling since the days of coax and early shielded twisted pair for token ring. Catagory 5-6 twisted pair is the way to go these days and if not properly installed and tested with the correct equipment, it can be the source of many system problems. John uses a FLUKE TDR (Time Domain Reflectometer) to test that the cabling installed is performing to its max specifications.
John has extensive experience with many of the popular brands of
hardware such as Apple, HP, Dell, Cisco/Linksys, D-Link, Watchgaurd,
etc. John has quite a bit of experience with Microsofts' Active
Directory as well as OS X and Ciscos' IOS. Hardware and Network Administration
have always been a favorite for John.
